The microchip apparently has the capacity of crunching a huge amount of data, along with managing other inputs.

IBM claim that the chip is an advancement compared to the majority of chips found in most computers. By using less power than most hardware, the brain-like chip can excel during a number of tasks.

IBM don’t plan to release this chip for the foreseeable future. They are apparently in talks with different partners, trying to work out how to launch the product.

Typography – Grab Attention

Posted on June 27, 2014 at 7:53 pm

A word can actusally be extremely powerful, esepcially if the font is carefully considered, and sometimes it’ nice to let the text do the talking, perhaps incorporating plenty of white space around your text and simple non-obstructive images.

A font maywork well for a particular target audience, but it’s unlikely to be seen or noticed if it’s not given the space to standout on the page. There are times when the main subject of a page is images, for example on a product page, however,  for news items, articles and blog posts it could be better to let the typography stand out, especially if it’s a headline.

A light background and a font that’s clear, large and bold can work well but you don’t have to settle for black. You may want to match the colour with another shade on the page, perhaps with the colour of your navigation menu, a graphic or your logo. This is a sensible approach for word heavy pages, and it’s a must if you want your articles to standout on the page.

Must have pages for your Website

Posted on January 21, 2014 at 6:13 pm

You may find that when you’ve looked at a range of websites, many will contain the same pages, and it is usually down the fact that these pages are essential. One must have page that all websites should have is an about page. This is your chance to tell the visitor what your website is about and what they will find. It’s also an opportunity to tell them why they should be interested in your website and explain what you can offer them.

A homepage is obvious and we skip past that, while another page is a contact page. You should be contacted easy enough, especially if you are a business and a contact page can give the visitor all the information they need if they want to get hold of you.

Today news or blog pages are becoming more important and this is pretty much down to Google’s demands. Search engines, and Google in particular want to find fresh and relevant content and a news feed or a blog page can provide the platform o update your website constantly.

One more page of equal importance is a product or service page. Again this s mainly for businesses, and even if your website is not an ecommerce site, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t display your products. You can actually sell your service direct, and the contact page will give them the information they need to enquire.
